28 million users: how social networks reacted to the Save Ukraine telethon — #StopWar

During the two-hour broadcast, political leaders, artists, social activists, athletes, volunteers from all over the world supported Ukraine and called for an end to the brutal Russian war. Before, during and after the tele-marathon, funds were collected to solve the biggest humanitarian problems caused by the military invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine.

Team LOOQMEanalyzed the activity of mentions of the event and thematic hashtags in social networks. From March 20 to 29, videos related to the charity telethon collected 24.9 million views on Telegram, Instagram and YouTube. Users have posted 7.4 thousand posts and videos and left 7.7 thousand comments. This content has potentially reached 28 million people.The biggest TV marathon Save Ukraine — #StopWar discussed on the net Facebook— there the posts were collected 12.5 million users.

A notable increase in the number of mentions began the day before the event and increased dramatically on March 27 (8,164 mentions) — the day of the marathon. This is due to announcements and the beginning of the release of post-event posts. The peak of notifications falls on March 28(9,911 mentions) — when artists, TV channels and organizers began distributing videos of performances and a new wave of discussion arose.

The largest number of mentions is on Facebook— it has a significant gap from other platforms. So far on YouTube, users have been active 2.5 thousand times, and on Telegram, Twitter and Instagram - less than two thousand, Facebook's audience has left 21,630 posts, comments and shares.

Women reacted most actively to the charity tele-marathon — they made up almost 52% of active users. This is more than the total number of mentions from men, communities and users who did not specify a gender.In general, the audience of social networks received the tele-marathon concert quite positively. He collected only a small number of negative reviews — 2.5%. About 30% of them were written by bots.
